THE TOY COMPANY

THE TOY COMPANY

Understanding the Marketplace

Make students active creators of their own story in which they apply social studies concepts and literacy skills to operate and manage a toy company. Hit Common Core standards as students strengthen reading and writing skills to create a variety of roles within the company and design their own toys.

Students develop economic skills as they formulate an effective marketing plan for their business. When the president decides to move the company overseas, students participate in civic discussion to find a solution in the unit's critical incident, which is designed to strengthen skills of persuasion and negotiation.
