The Land and the People

Motivate students to learn social studies while covering the standards as they role-play photographers traveling to a game reserve in Kenya to take pictures of wildlife. Students apply key literacy skills such as writing, speaking, and listening as they create and introduce realistic characters and animals on their journey.

Students strengthen global studies and geography skills as they make preparations for their safari, and develop intercultural and social interaction skills in the unitís critical incident when local villagers are upset by insensitive photographers.
